Housing

Housing is complex. We know housing is a major priority at both the state and regional levels. We also know we lack opportunities in Sammamish for our seniors to downsize and for our young people to afford to live in the city in which they grew up. Planning for more diverse housing options can help all of us get better transit, provide more amenities on the plateau – which allows our sales tax dollars to stay in Sammamish – give us all recreation opportunities, and create affordable housing opportunities.

I don’t think 950 additional townhomes in our Town Center development, which is what is currently allowed and is most likely to be built with the existing cap of 2,000 units, is the best outcome for our community.
