Re-Elect Sid Gupta

I’m proud and humbled to be a Sammamish City Councilmember. These past two years have been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Thank you for the opportunity to serve my community.

What we’ve accomplished together:

Since I was elected in 2023, we have adopted our Climate Action Plan, a Transit Plan, a Transportation Master Plan, and a Comprehensive Plan that for the first time in Sammamish’s history, creates a foundation for delivering diverse and affordable housing in the city. We created a Sustainability Commission; established ourselves as a Tree City USA; and passed a DEIB north-star document that will inform all of our planning work going forward. In addition, this year we’re tackling our Bike and Pedestrian Mobility Plan.

Effective, well-conceived planning is the secret ingredient to nurture a thriving community toward long-term, sustainable success.

What’s on the horizon:

But our work is only beginning. We need to keep looking forward to help Sammamish meet everyone’s needs. Connecting trails, improving bus stops, building practical and affordable housing, and creating community gathering spaces are all imperative priorities!

Working together is the key to Sammamish’s bright future. Our diversity is our strength. As a 15-year resident of Klahanie and community volunteer for more than ten years, I have seen firsthand how grass-roots actions build success.

Before joining City Council, I served on the Parks and Recreation Commission, led local nonprofits, and worked as a Native Plant Steward. Continuing my time in local governance is the best way I can foster my legacy of positive engagement. I received the 2016 SAMMI Award for Environmental Stewardship and the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from the City of Sammamish.
